Since Auxier Ridge offers such great overlooks of the Eastern Kentucky landscape, an autumn hike is a good way to spend an afternoon. The pictures you see here were actually taken on two days (consecutive Wednesdays in October) so if you notice different lighting conditions, that's why. You'll notice the image of the hawk. There are lots of hawks in the ridge area and I once saw a golden eagle fly overhead. Unfortunately the birds seem to know when I've put my camera in my pack and usually choose those times to come near...
