I figure you're here for one of three reasons:

        1. You're bored and have nothing else to click on
        2. You're someone who insists on clicking on every link they come across
        3. You're here by complete accident. You should be more careful.

This is where I'm supposed to tell you who I am, what I do and why I do it. However, laziness and lack of motivation have largely thwarted me from giving more than a sparse overview. No right-minded person actually reads this stuff anyway.

The Cliff's Notes Version

I've been called a collage: a bit of computer programmer, a bit of scientist and a bit of guitarist mixed together into one. I have undergraduate degrees in computer science and physics (and more than enough credits for a degree in mathematics but I lacked a required course...ah well). I did the graduate school thing in physics for a while during which time I served as a research assistant for the intermediate energy particle physics group at my university. You can read a little about what I did as a research assistant here (suitable for general audiences).

I gave up on grad school before completing my PhD work after finally realizing just how badly the job market for physicists sucked. What can I say? We're all slaves to the almighty dollar.

So now I'm a cog on gear in a big machine. I get to do geeky things like write cryptographic software and device drivers and file for patents.
