World Hunger

Did you know...?

People in the first world consume six times as much milk, eggs, and dairy, and four times as much meat, fat, and oils as people in other countries.2

70% of the grain we produce goes to feed livestock. 3

One fourth of the total land area of the PLANET is used for livestock grazing.
In the US this number is even higher... 29%2

It takes 16 pounds of grain to produce one pound of beef...
and of this only 11 pounds actually go towards useable beef. The rest becomes hair, teeth, bones, and other non-edibles.2

With all of the hunger and starvation in the world, it doesn't make sense to waste all of this grain on such little yield.
The grain that goes into beef production is higher in energy, has 21 times the calories, 8 times the protein, and no fat as compared to the beef that it produces.2
